Ingredients:
- Spinach & Artichoke Cheese Dip
- 4 cups bread flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups warm water
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, instant yeast, and salt.
- Gradually add the warm water to the dry ingredients while stirring with a wooden spoon or a dough whisk.
- Once the dough comes together, transfer it to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a baking stone or a baking sheet in the oven to preheat as well.
- Once the dough has risen, transfer it back to the floured surface and gently deflate it by pressing down with your hands. Shape the dough into a long baguette shape, about 14-16 inches in length.
- Place the shaped baguette onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Using a sharp knife or a razor blade, make diagonal slashes on the top of the baguette.
- Carefully transfer the baguette, with the parchment paper, onto the preheated baking stone or baking sheet in the oven.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the baguette turns golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Once the baguette is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
- Once the baguette has cooled slightly, slice it into 1-inch thick diagonal slices.
- Preheat a grill pan, skillet, or toaster oven. Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil.
- Toast the baguette slices for a few minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the toasted baguette slices from the heat and let them cool slightly.
- After 10 minutes, Spoon the Spinach & Artichoke Dip onto the toasted baguette slices, spreading it evenly.
- Place the topped baguette slices back on the baking sheet and return them to the oven. Bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the topping is bubbly and lightly browned.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm and enjoy!
